My history tuition sessions are personalised, engaging, and rooted in academic rigour. I tailor each lesson to the individual needs of the student, whether they require support with exam technique, a boost in confidence, or a deeper understanding of the content. Every session begins with identifying key areas for development and building from there, ensuring progress is both focused and meaningful.

I take a concept-driven approach to teaching history, helping students make sense of big ideas like power, empire, and revolution across different time periods and topics. This enables them to build a strong foundation in historical thinking, including cause and consequence, change and continuity, and interpretation. My aim is not just for students to recall facts, but to understand how the past is constructed, debated, and written about.

A core part of my teaching is developing students' written skills. I work closely with them to refine their essay writing, helping them plan, structure, and express their ideas with clarity and precision. I break down the requirements of AQA, Edexcel, and OCR mark schemes so students know exactly what examiners are looking for, and I model high-level responses to show them how to reach the top grades. Source analysis and interpretation work are also embedded into lessons, particularly for GCSE and A-Level students.

My sessions are also inclusive, relevant, and rich in content. I incorporate diverse perspectives and stories that often go untold in traditional textbooks, such as the Bengal Famine or the Witches of the East End, to keep students curious and engaged. Above all, I create a supportive space where students feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow. With a balance of challenge and encouragement, my lessons help students build both historical expertise and academic confidence.
