Having had tutors in the past I believe I have the experience to deliver a great session with a student. Taking information from the student from what they need to work on each week is important as the student knows best which areas they are weaker. Asking students to fill in an excel sheet of all topics and colour coding them by their confidence in each is the first thing I will do and this is key. Throughout the session I will use an interactive whiteboard, and past questions to allow students to get confident with the phrasing of questions and what the mark scheme is looking for. Recently having done these exams, I think is an advantage to me as I can understand and know how stressful exam periods are and the best methods of revision. As I will only most likely see a student 1 hour a week possibly more it’s important to get as much done as I can to maximise the impact of my services on the grade of the student. Making sure it is not just me talking and that the session is interactive for them is also incredibly important as information is best remembered through active recall, me just talking at somebody will be no help at all and will not help a student remember almost anything I am saying to them. Overall, I believe I can give you a great session that will really help improve your understanding of topics you may struggle with and would really appreciate you giving me a chance.
