I have experience with tutoring and successfully supported a GCSE student in improving from a Grade 7 to a Grade 9 during their period of tutoring. I achieved a Grade 9 at GCSE French and an A at A Level French. I like to deliver challenging but enjoyable lessons that are tailored to each student's individual needs and ability. I would use a mixture of conversation, vocabulary and grammar exercises, exam-style questions and interactive activities to keep lessons engaging while developing all areas of their French. I would identify areas they find difficult and focus on these, while also building their confidence and encouraging them to develop a genuine passion for the language. My aim is to help students make significant progress in their ability and feel fully prepared and confident going into their GCSE exams.
Lessons would typically begin by reviewing previous content and identifying any areas that need further attention, before introducing new material and practising it through a range of activities. I would regularly use exam-style questions to develop students' understanding of GCSE requirements and improve their exam technique. I would also encourage students to ask questions and take an active role in their learning, rather than simply memorising information. I would identify areas they find difficult and focus on these, while also building their confidence and encouraging them to develop a genuine passion for the language.
