Faye Colhoun

Hi, I’m Faye, a student at Queen’s University Belfast studying English and French. I have over a year of experience working as an English teacher for French students, supporting learners of different ages and levels to build confidence, accuracy, and fluency in their language skills.

Through my teaching experience, I have developed strong communication and interpersonal skills, allowing me to adapt my lessons to suit each student’s individual needs and learning style. I am experienced in explaining complex grammar clearly, improving pronunciation, and helping students feel comfortable speaking in a second language. I also focus on creating a positive and encouraging learning environment where students can progress at their own pace.

As a native English speaker with professional fluency in French, I am able to bridge the gap between the two languages effectively. This is particularly helpful for French learners of English, as I understand common difficulties and can explain concepts in a way that makes sense from both linguistic perspectives.

I also offer support for GCSE and A-level French students, including help with exam preparation, essay writing, speaking practice, and understanding literary texts. My background in studying English and French literature has strengthened my analytical and writing skills, which I pass on to my students to help them achieve higher grades.
