I am a dedicated and highly experienced computing professional with over 25 years of experience in software development, university teaching, system analysis, and curriculum design. My lessons are engaging, well-structured, practical, and tailored to each student's individual needs, learning objectives, and level of experience.

My teaching experience and subjects

As a university lecturer, associate lecturer, and curriculum designer, I have taught and supported students across a wide range of computing and IT subjects, including:

- Basic Computer Skills: Computer fundamentals, using computers, operating systems, essential software applications, and digital literacy for beginners.
- Basic Programming: Introduction to programming languages, computational thinking, and problem-solving for students starting their computing journey.

I have also supported learners undertaking apprenticeships at Levels 3, 4, and 5, ensuring that teaching materials and activities are aligned with industry requirements and learning outcomes.

What my lessons are like

My lessons combine clear explanations, demonstrations, practical exercises, real-world examples, and guided problem-solving. I begin by understanding each student's goals and assessing their existing knowledge. I then introduce new concepts step by step, provide demonstrations, and give students opportunities to practise independently with my guidance.

For beginners, I teach basic computer skills, introductory programming, and mathematics patiently, using simple explanations and practical examples to build confidence. For more advanced students, I provide coding exercises, application development, debugging tasks, database projects, networking scenarios, and AI and data analysis activities.

I adapt the pace and difficulty of each lesson to the student's ability, encourage questions, and provide constructive feedback to help learners understand mistakes and improve their skills.

My professional and research experience

I have worked as a lecturer at the University of Tripoli and as an associate lecturer and curriculum designer at Lakes College. I hold an MSc in Computer Science with Distinction and have research experience at the University of Strathclyde, focusing on industrial IoT, machine monitoring, intelligent dashboards, and predictive maintenance. My practical experience in software development and manufacturing technologies enables me to connect classroom learning with real-world applications.
