My lessons as a tutor are based on what worked for me when I was and still am revising. Since primary school, maths and physics have been my passion, and through my revision tactics, I achieved a 9 in maths. Although maths is my favourite, I also managed to get all 8’s and 9’s in my results, which I hope provides some evidence to the helpfulness of my tutoring skills. As well as experience in academics, I have work experience in a nursery and secondary school which has helped my skills in tutoring immensely and has made me great with kids!

My lessons are structured to be clear, supportive, and effective for each student. I usually start with a quick recap of previous topics or a short starter activity to warm up and build confidence. Then, I introduce the new topic by explaining it step by step in a simple and easy to understand way.

After that, we would work through examples together before the student tries practice questions independently, with help when needed. I make sure to adapt the lesson to the student’s pace and focus on any areas they find difficult.

At the end of each lesson, we review what has been learned and go over any mistakes to make sure everything is fully understood. My aim is to keep lessons engaging, build confidence, and help students improve steadily.

As a tutor, I will make sure to bring any resources needed to tutoring sessions. This includes, printouts of questions and practise tests, worksheets and any notes or diagrams needed. I am a big fan of using whiteboards as well (as they helped my own revision so much!!) which I can bring if needed.
