Ezra Izer

I recently graduated in History & Politics from the University of Cambridge with a very high 2.1, where I developed a strong academic background as well as a passion for teaching and mentoring. My approach to tutoring is centred on clarity, encouragement, and adaptability. I know from experience that every student learns differently, and I make it my priority to tailor lessons to the individual – whether that means breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps, providing exam-focused strategies, or building confidence in essay-writing and critical thinking.

It is my firm belief that any student can thrive with the right guidance and motivations. As a result, my lessons are structured but flexible. I like to begin by identifying a student’s individual strengths and areas for improvement, then designing sessions that address their goals directly. For essay-based subjects like English, History, and Politics, I focus on sharpening analytical skills, improving structure and argument, and helping students find their own voice while meeting exam requirements. I often bring in examples from past papers, wider reading, and real-world contexts to make learning more engaging and meaningful.

What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing a student grow in confidence – not only in their subject knowledge, but in their ability to think independently and tackle challenges with resilience. My aim is to create a friendly and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and ultimately discovering that academic work can be both rewarding and enjoyable.
