Hi there! I am a flexible tutor with a strong academic background and a wide breadth of teaching experience across both traditional subjects and creative, fast-paced environments. I achieved 13 A*s at GCSE and specialise in tutoring English Literature, Mathematics, Drama, Film Studies, and Music. Because my own background spans both the humanities and maths, I am used to shifting between analytical thinking and creative problem-solving, and I bring that exact adaptability into my online lessons.
My Experience
My teaching background is quite varied, which means I know how to connect with different types of learners and age groups. On the academic side, I have a proven track record of helping students significantly boost their marks:
GCSE Success: I provided voluntary online tutoring for my brother, helping him elevate his grades from projected Cs to achieved As across multiple subjects.
High School Maths: I tutored an Italian client in mathematics, helping him graduate with a 75% when he was originally on track for a 60%.
Creative Leadership: Beyond standard academic settings, I have spent several years working with a charity called RecRock, mentoring over 100 young people aged 8–18 through instrumental lessons and music workshops. I have also directed adults in theatre and music projects, teaching new material and managing large-scale productions.
Lesson Format & Dynamics
Because I have taught in so many unconventional environments, I don’t run my lessons like a rigid school lecture. I focus on keeping things interactive, conversational, and tailored to how you actually learn.
The First Session: We will look at where you are currently at, identify the specific gaps in your knowledge, and set clear, realistic targets based on your exam board specification or personal goals.
Active Problem-Solving: We will spend less time with me talking at you and more time working through concepts together. If a formula or a piece of text isn’t clicking, my background in communication and the arts means I am great at finding alternative, creative ways to explain it until it makes sense.
A Supportive Environment: I aim to create a relaxed, focused space where you feel completely comfortable making mistakes and asking questions.
Ultimately, my goal is to give you the practical tools, study habits, and confidence you need to succeed independently. Whether you are aiming to turn a predicted grade around or want to stretch your skills in a creative subject, I am looking forward to helping you reach your potential.
