I try breaking down complex concepts into small understandable nuggets using visual-aids, diagrams and case studies to enhance understanding.
I also have use active learning technique to enable students remain engaged throughout the session.
My greatest value is having impact and by the end of the lesson I aim for the student to evaluate the relevance and applications of the topic in real life problems. I believe this approach inspires curiosity and passion for the subject matter.
I also like to use demonstration in sections where it will make more sense if explained further by a practical for deeper understanding.
My teaching is characterized by a student-centered approach for an inclusive learning environment, to enable each student feel seen, heard and their learning valued.
With a focus on fostering curiosity, impact, critical thinking and a life long love of learning, my goal is to empower students to become confident and competent in the ever evolving world of biology and biochemistry.
I also value student feedback to ensure that I am meeting their specific needs and improve on my teaching style. I also love providing engaging feedback to give room for the student to ways in which they can improve.
