As a tutor who has a passion for helping others learn and seeing their progress, I have 2 years of tutoring experience in all 3 sciences, Maths and Geography so have had a well rounded set of developed skills. My lessons are usually split into two sections: 20-30 min of teaching through powerpoints and collaborative whiteboards where I label or draw diagrams/plan a longer question in real time so that the student can properly take in the information. The second half of the session is then dedicated to exam practice. I tailor each session to individual students, targeting topics or question types that the student feels less confident with so that we can build up both knowledge and skills over time. I also take into account any preferred learning techniques my students might have, such as visual learning, flow charts or more exam practice than content (or vice versa) so that each students learning experience is unique and targeted at them! My main modes of teaching in terms of software is google meet and google calendar, and I use PowerPoint for teaching and a website called Excalidraw for collaborative whiteboards. I simply send over the link and the student can paste it into their browser to begin exam practice! I share all my meeting links at least 24 hours before the session to remain reliable and consistent, and am very flexible with timings as I am a university student! As an experienced tutor, I would love to help your child learn and seeing the progress that they have made, as it is so rewarding for both student and teacher!
