I offer calm, supportive 1:1 tuition tailored to each pupil's needs, with daytime availability during the week. I have 10 years of classroom experience as a KS2 teacher, including Year 6, and I bring the same care and individual attention to my tutoring that I have always valued in the classroom.
I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I begin by finding out what a pupil already understands, what they find difficult and how they learn best. From there, I adapt my explanations, activities and level of support to help them make progress at a pace that feels manageable.
Lessons typically involve a mixture of explanation, modelling, guided practice and independent work. I encourage pupils to explain their thinking and ask questions, helping them develop genuine understanding rather than simply memorising methods or answers. I also revisit previous learning regularly so that knowledge and skills become secure.
I particularly enjoy working with pupils who have lost confidence or need concepts explained in a different way, but I also provide challenge for pupils who are ready to deepen their understanding.
I welcome enquiries from home-educated and flexi-schooled pupils, as well as pupils who would benefit from additional support alongside their school education. I'm happy to work around an existing curriculum or create a programme of tuition based on a pupil's individual needs.
Above all, I want pupils to feel that they are capable learners. My aim is for them to leave lessons not only knowing more, but feeling more confident about tackling things for themselves.
