I am a qualified and experienced science department leader with a specialism in Chemistry, offering engaging and supportive tutoring for students from KS2 through to KS5. With a strong academic background and classroom experience, I am passionate about helping students build confidence, develop scientific thinking, and achieve their full potential.
My teaching approach focuses on making complex scientific ideas clear, relatable, and memorable. I tailor each session to the student’s individual needs, whether they require help strengthening foundational knowledge, preparing for exams, or aiming for top grades. I break down challenging topics into manageable steps and use real-world examples to make learning meaningful and enjoyable. I provide students with lesson and support resources so they can revisit our sessions, reviewing content and skills for further study and revision in their own time, helping them to become more independant learners and developing their confidence in effective revision and home-learning techniques.
Alongside my principle Chemistry specialism, I am experienced at teaching Biology and Physics to Higher GCSE and iGCSE Triple standards, plus GCSE and iGCSE Maths, as well as supporting younger learners in developing core scientific and maths skills at KS2 and KS3. I have many years of experience preparing students for GCSE and A-level exams, guiding them through exam techniques, problem-solving strategies, and revision planning.
I pride myself on creating a positive, encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making progress at their own pace. My goal is not only to improve grades but also to build lasting confidence and curiosity in science.
