My lessons are structured, interactive, and adapted to the needs and level of each student.

Lessons will normally include three key stages: prior knowledge, the main lesson, and a plenary. We may begin by revisiting previous learning through speaking activities, role-plays, grammar retrieval, questioning, or other opportunities to increase interaction in French.

The main lesson then focuses on developing new language and skills through a variety of activities, including vocabulary, grammar, reading, listening, speaking, writing, translation, and exam-style tasks.

We finish with a plenary to review learning, check understanding, and identify areas that may need further practice.
However, each lesson's structure is flexible. I pay close attention to how students respond during the lesson and adapt the pace, activities, and level of support accordingly. If a student needs more time to consolidate a particular concept, we can spend longer on it; if they are confident, we can move on or introduce more challenging material.

I aim to create lessons that are supportive, engaging, and purposeful, while giving students plenty of opportunities to use French and develop their confidence and independence. At Bablake School, students are normally excited to say something in French whilst doing the register. They use their sentence builders and vocab book for this. Most of them actually prepare before the lesson, and this creates a vibrant and positive energy for the lesson. The students are eager to practice what they have learnt, and some even try to interact with it around the school. Feels so good! l
