I use a lot of past papers to asses progression. I also like to use description games to help the student progress. I recently helped a student progress from a failing grade to a strong pass.
It’s ok to use English to make sure you understand. I’d rather a student ask a question in English then have them leave the lesson without total comprehension of what we discussed.
