My lessons are friendly, engaging and tailored to each student. I like to start by understanding what the student already knows and identifying any areas they are struggling with, before building the lesson around their individual needs. I aim to make lessons interactive rather than simply talking through the content. I’ll explain key, challenging topics clearly, break down more difficult concepts into manageable steps, work through examples together and then give students the opportunity to practise independently and ask questions.

Depending on what the student needs, lessons can focus on learning new topics, consolidating knowledge, working through homework or practising exam-style questions. I’m happy to adapt the pace and format of lessons, whether a student needs extra support with a particular topic or wants to feel more prepared and confident going into their exams. Most importantly, I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, as I believe this is an important part of learning. On top of all of this, I aim to make lessons enjoyable and create a positive learning environment where students feel motivated to improve and gain confidence.

I am now in my third year studying Psychology at the University of Leeds and I have plenty of experience tutoring GCSE Maths, Science and History, as well as A Level Maths and History. My goal is for every student to finish a lesson feeling more confident than when they started, helping them to strengthen their understanding of challenging and key topics, and build their confidence to improve their exam technique and results.
