Ellie Gold

Hello!

My name is Ellie, I'm a native English speaker with two years of experience teaching English as a foreign language. I graduated from the University of Glasgow with an MA(Hons) in French and Economics, and so I understand both the process of and the nerves that come with learning and practising a foreign language.

My aims are to make students as comfortable as possible, and to tailor my lessons around your individual needs. I like to get pupils to work on their active skills as much as possible in an environment that is open and friendly. We can work on any and all disciplines, i.e. speaking, listening, reading, and writing. If there are any specific areas that you would like to improve, e.g. spelling or pronunciation, I will emphasise these in our lessons. We can also focus on specific vocabularies, such as business English. I can set and mark homework for those who would like additional learning in their own time.

We will work at a pace that is suitable for you to increase your confidence and to make sure we are not leaving any gaps. I can provide materials for the classes, or we can look at the work that has been set by your school/college/university if that is applicable. I can help with exam preparation too - in my last position, I conducted around 150 mock oral exams and provided extensive feedback.
