Ella Martin-Vassallo

Hello! I’m Ella, a friendly, patient and enthusiastic bilingual Spanish tutor currently studying Physical Geography at Cardiff University. I am passionate about languages and enjoy helping others become more confident in their abilities.

My lessons are aimed primarily at GCSE Spanish students who want to improve their knowledge, prepare for exams or simply feel more confident using Spanish. Having recently completed my own GCSEs and A Levels, I understand the challenges students can face when learning a language and preparing for exams. This means I can relate to students and understand the importance of making lessons supportive, engaging and easy to follow.

I will tailor each lesson to the individual student and focus on the areas where they need the most support. Depending on their goals, this could include grammar, vocabulary, speaking, listening, reading or writing. I can also help students practise exam-style questions and develop techniques for answering questions effectively.

I believe that learning a language should be interactive rather than simply memorising information. I would encourage students to speak as much Spanish as they feel comfortable with, while creating a relaxed environment where they can ask questions and make mistakes without feeling embarrassed. I can break difficult grammar and vocabulary into smaller, manageable sections and use examples and conversation to help students understand and remember what they have learned.

As a bilingual speaker, I understand the benefits of being able to communicate in more than one language and would love to help students develop that same confidence. My aim is for every student to leave a lesson feeling that they have learned something useful and are one step closer to achieving their goals.

I am reliable, organised and approachable, and I will always try to make lessons positive and enjoyable while keeping them focused on the student’s individual needs.
