My lessons are friendly, supportive and tailored to you, whether you’re looking to strengthen your knowledge, prepare for placement, work through a topic you’re struggling with or simply build confidence in your clinical practice.
As a Registered Mental Health Nurse, First Contact Mental Health Practitioner and Independent Prescriber, I have experience working across community and primary care mental health services. I bring my clinical experience into lessons to help bridge the gap between what you learn at university and how this translates into real-life practice.
My teaching style is practical and interactive. I like to use case scenarios, discussion, reflective learning and real-world clinical examples rather than simply talking through lots of information. We can work together on areas such as mental health assessments, risk assessment and formulation, care planning, documentation, psychotropic medication, clinical reasoning, communication skills and placement preparation.
I understand that nurse training can sometimes feel overwhelming, and there are often things you may not feel confident asking during university or placement. I’m approachable, patient and non-judgemental, and there is no such thing as a silly question in my lessons.
Ultimately, my aim is not just to help you understand the theory, but to help you develop your own clinical thinking, recognise your strengths and feel more confident as a future Mental Health Nurse.
