I'm enthusiastic about music and people playing the piano and want you to get the most out of the lesson(s).

We can work on learning the basics, working on a piece of music you want to learn, work towards grades or progress without taking grades. I can take returning students who want to get back to learning / progressing and / or want to learn a particular piece, or complete beginners. If you don't want to do learn things like scales, you have the option of just learning pieces of music and if you want, doing performance grades which is playing more pieces of music rather than have the other extra requirements e.g. scales, aural tests, sights reading, improvisation. We can also add in a variety of different pieces and possibly studies to improve your dexterity and technical skills to help your performance ability.

I have been a registered mental health nurse for 24 years and have worked with all ages and different conditions. I have worked with under 18's a lot as well as adults of all ages, and I'm currently working with under 18's, doing ADHD assessments. I started playing the piano when I was under 5 years old and probably started lessons at around 5, so I'm very happy to work with younger students. I'm happy to support nervous students, neurodevelopmental conditions and mental health conditions and adapt lessons to your needs. I feel that music and playing music can be a real benefit to emotional wellbeing.

I'm open to doing shorter lessons if that is needed, or splitting hour long lessons between 2 people for regular lessons. Ideally it would be helpful if these people are at a similar level but we can work around that.
