I have some experience in tutoring law students in their undergraduate studies. I believe the best format to use whilst tutoring a new student is first of all understanding their way of thinking and encouraging them to ameliorate their approach to learning. More precisely, when it comes to essay writing I provide relevant material to the students and explain to them how to target specific sections. Critical thinking and learning how to spot material information are the key elements of my tutoring style.
Furthermore, in the process of doing so I help students feel comfortable around me, ask any type of questions, as there is no such thing as 'silly' question. It is pivotal to understand how the student thinks and structure his/her thought-process based on the IRAC style (Issue-Rule-Analysis-Conclusion).
In terms of general learning, I aim at creating a roadmap for my students to be able to link all the information they learn throughout the year, to eventually help them at their final exams to have a holistic picture of what they have been taught.
