About me

My lessons are structured but flexible, and designed around each student’s individual goals and learning style. In our first session, we begin by identifying the student’s current challenges, strengths, and aims. We discuss the grades they are hoping to achieve, the topics they find most difficult, and the areas they feel less confident about. From there, I create a personalised and flexible plan...
My lessons are structured but flexible, and designed around each student’s individual goals and learning style. In our first session, we begin by identifying the student’s current challenges, strengths, and aims. We discuss the grades they are hoping to achieve, the topics they find most difficult, and the areas they feel less confident about. From there, I create a personalised and flexible plan so that our lessons focus on the areas that will make the biggest difference.
Psychology at GCSE and A-Level involves a large amount of content, so a key part of my teaching is helping students break complex theories and studies into clear, manageable, and memorable ideas. I focus on explaining concepts in simple, digestible ways so that students genuinely understand the material rather than just memorising it. We also work on remembering the right information - key studies, evaluation points, and terminology that examiners are specifically looking for.
A major focus of my lessons is helping students learn how to master the mark scheme. We practise exam-style questions together and analyse mark schemes so students understand how to structure answers, what earns marks, and how to include effective evaluation. I also share practical revision strategies such as creating flashcards, simplifying studies into key points, and using memory techniques to make large amounts of content easier to retain.
I also provide strong support with research methods, which many students find particularly challenging. I help break down statistical concepts, experimental design, and methodological terminology into clear explanations so students feel more confident tackling these questions in exams.
I have first-hand experience studying psychology at A-level, completing a Psychology degree at the University of Bristol, and I am now undertaking an MSc in Clinical Psychotherapy at King’s College London. Because I have progressed through these levels myself, I understand both the academic content and the exam expectations, and I enjoy helping students build the confidence and strategies needed to succeed!
