In order to complete my PGCE, i trained in 2 Secondary schools with varying abilities of students. I taught at a Grammar school where i had to employ high tier subject knowledge to challenge the kids and high quality forms of self evaluation, reflection and assessment. I have also taught in a comprehensive school where pedagogical practices unique to computer science needed to be implemented. I use the PRIMM Modelling method when implementing coding challenges and a "I do - We do - You do" modelling method when talking about complex topic questions (Networking, Computational Thinking etc). This had led students within a school setting to achieve great success and with these techniques I aim to create a safe and inclusive learning environment where my students can thrive to the best of their ability.
