My lessons are structured, supportive and fully tailored to each student’s needs. I begin by identifying the student’s goals — whether that’s improving grammar, strengthening reading comprehension, developing clearer writing, or preparing for exams — and I design each session around those aims.

A typical lesson includes a short warm-up activity, a focused explanation of the day’s topic, guided practice, and constructive feedback. I use clear examples, step-by-step explanations and plenty of opportunities for students to apply what they’ve learned. I also draw on my background as a proofreader and copyeditor to help students refine their writing, improve clarity and accuracy, and build confidence in their own voice. Content is tailored to be as relevant to the student needs as possible, and students are guided towards SMART target goals to boost confidence.

Because I have taught English in a French school and have experience teaching French, German and history at secondary and sixth-form level, I’m comfortable adapting lessons for different ages, abilities and learning styles. My approach is patient, encouraging and flexible — I aim to make English feel accessible and enjoyable while still challenging students to progress.

I will help you to build your confidence in learning in an immersive environment and can adapt lesson plans on the fly to target learning to your needs. I will help you reach your learning goals and smash those learning outcome targets.
