I have worked with over 60 children of all ages and found I could help them all no matter the issue or any other external factors that can sometimes make life trickier, what I found works best is giving support little by little as you work through questions, much different than a teacher who can’t always get through to everyone, by doing this I am building up your confidence without stopping you from figuring out your own thought process. I am a big advocate for finding an intuitive way to problem solve and would encourage as much independent thinking as I can whilst maintaining my strong support role, I like to cultivate a relaxed and friendly environment, the only thing you should be worried about is impressing your teacher next time you fly through their questions. After spending nearly 2 years tutoring I found ,especially in younger children, engaging with them on something other than school work drastically improves both the willingness to learn and can be a great way to develop a child’s people skills and overall confidence.
I am well versed on all subjects from GCSE level and below as well as maths at A-Level.
I can work off of day to day instruction on what you think your child needs and maybe help to translate teacher-talk if you’re ever left unclear about what something could mean for your child. As well as this I can develop and map out a path to meet a long term goal.
