I love creating interactive lessons made to engage and interest my students in their subjects! For example, I enjoy creating fun and visual presentations, small games and quizzes to make sure you're taking in what I'm saying throughout the lesson without becoming overwhelmed or bored with the subject.
I also make sure to go through topics thoroughly, while stopping regularly for short breaks so we can both focus on the topics without becoming too tired!
My experience in tutoring mainly comes from helping my younger sister's friends at GCSE level, but my teaching experience stems from my 5 years in my school's CCF, or Cadet, program. There, I was an activity leader for different activities and educational lessons which I taught on a weekly basis, which developed my passion for teaching and education!
This role helped me become more confident in communicating different information to students who all had different communication styles, personalities and attention spans, so I really got the chance to work with a lot of very different students, all of whom needed different styles of teaching in order to absorb information from me.
This teaching experience has also given me the opportunity to become more creative with my lesson plans and with how I explain certain topics, as well as becoming more aware of the structure of lesson I need to prepare in order for my students to understand me and engage with my lessons in the best way.
In my tutoring, I use all the lessons I've learned from my cadet experience, and try my best to deliver interesting and well-explained lessons to my students, while of course being open to any feedback they might have for me.
I hope to see you in a lesson soon!
