Most teachers are far too technical, and I have personally witnessed over these many years, how and why, students don't get to understand the maths that is being taught to them.
I would also set a nominal base line assessment in order to determine where the student currently is in their maths knowledge.
From the base line assessment we would then determine the students future needs and aspirations in order to be completely successful.
Programmes such as 'Skills Navigator'(awarded the worlds leading technology of students ability), mathsforum, athletics and many more can be used as useful resources to add value to the students skills and knowledge.
