I offer a professional Primary Tuition service at Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. All lessons are tailored to your aims, and the schools you are aiming for, if you are interested in entrance exam coaching. I’m based in Islington, North London, and tutor at home, in the local area and online.

I have a full, clear DBS police check certificate, dated August 2024. 

I have supported hundreds of pupils as a 1:1 tutor over the last 30 years, alongside teaching whole classes as a teacher for the first part of my career.

I qualified in 1999 as a Primary Teacher, and in 1996 as an English Teacher, the latter at the prestigious Institute of Education, University of London. I’m a twice-qualified and vastly experienced Teacher and Tutor. 

I’ve an excellent success rate of securing places at all of the leading independent and grammar schools in the North and Central London areas at 7, 10 and 11, eg Latymer, Highgate, Owen’s, City Girls, City Boys, Forest, UCS, QE Boys, the Girls School Consortium schools, and many more, for hundreds of pupils over the decades. 

I’ve secured several academic scholarships for pupils - awarded for exceptional papers; I’m very proud of this achievement. Some of my past pupils achieved more than one scholarship offer - I’ll be sending you on some testimonials, so you can read more about my successes. 

I’ve taught at leading prep schools, preparing and taking pupils through English entrance exams, eg Hill House, North Bridge House. I’ve taught at the best state schools, eg Parkwood, Our Lady of Muswell. 

I’m a vastly experienced state primary and preparatory school Teacher, having taught in both sectors. I left teaching in 2008 to set up my local, one-woman Primary Tuition Business, Byrne’s Tuition. 

I am a 7+, 10+ and 11+ specialist, teaching English, Maths, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning. I’ve taught/tutored these subject areas for 30 years.

How I work:

I book lessons in batches of 12, payable in advance. These lessons are for either 60, 75 or 90 minutes a week.
