Hello! I am a qualified primary teacher with 10 years of experience teaching in classrooms and education settings. Throughout my career, I’ve taught all core subjects within the Primary National Curriculum, across the full age range: Early Years Foundation and Key Stages 1 and 2, preparation for SATs, 11+ and School Entrance Examinations. I’ve had extensive training in supporting children with a wide range of learning and special educational needs. As well as teaching in the classroom, I’ve worked as a maths tutor up to GCSE level. I completed a Bachelor of Education in Ireland in 2017, Masters in the Psychology of Education from UCL (with Distinction) in 2020 and am currently doing a Professional Doctorate in Educational Psychology at UCL. While I’m currently taking a break from the classroom to study, I’m eager to continue supporting and teaching children in a different capacity through tutoring. I hold a current First Aid certification and a valid DBS check.
I love planning fun, educational activities that match a child’s interest and am particularly skilled at creating a nurturing environment where children feel safe to make mistakes and to reach their full potential. I love using active learning and concrete materials, rather than having children sat at a desk with pencil and paper completing worksheets. This is not how children learn. They learn through doing and our job as teachers is to facilitate this process. My mission is to instil a love of learning and ensure every child makes accelerated progress. If you’re looking for someone who is experienced, trustworthy and genuinely passionate about education, I would love to hear from you!
