I try to make tutoring fun so it doesn’t feel boring or like school all over again. The idea is that you actually enjoy it and feel like you can do it, not just sit there worrying about getting things wrong.

I like to turn learning into games, challenges, and activities that make more sense in real life, so you can see why you’re learning it. Sometimes we might do quick-fire quizzes, timed challenges, or even turn tricky topics into stories, puzzles, or little competitions. If something feels hard, we don’t rush it. We break it down together step by step until it starts to make sense.

I also like to use things you’re interested in, because it’s always easier to learn when it actually feels relevant to you. So if you like sport, music, gaming, animals, or anything else, I’ll try to bring that into the lesson so it feels more interesting and less like “work”.

Most importantly, I want you to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and having a go without worrying. Mistakes are actually a good thing, because they show us what we need to work on. There’s never any pressure to get everything right straight away, we go at your pace.

And I’ll always make sure we celebrate the small wins along the way, whether that’s getting one question right that you couldn’t do before, understanding something tricky, or just trying your best. I want you to leave each session feeling more confident than when you started, and actually looking forward to the next one.
