Mathematics is a subject best learnt by doing practice questions to deepen your brains understanding of various topics. As a result my lesson plan for potential would be going through various topics that they are struggling with explaining and demonstrating the key concepts that are problematic before seeing if they understand what has been shown with practice questions. The lesson's would be structured with going through the topics the student finds hard then doing a small amount practice questions before moving onto a different questions. This would be done until near the end of the session were I would quickly go through all of the topics as their brain would have had time to understand what I am saying about how to solve each question. Notes would be made and if the student seems to be struggling on any type of problem specifically i could send them an example with my thought process when solving it. The problematic topics for the student would be brought up again in future sessions.

Another thing that can be complicated is when a questions asks about a variety of topics because you have need to know how to use those concepts together to end up at the correct answer.

As for my experience in the field, I have tutored people for GCSE maths and GCSE further maths before. I graduated from Queen's University Belfast with a BSc Hons in mathematics in June 2025. From my time at university i understand what it takes for someone to achieve their academic goals.In my final year, I presented research and projects to senior academic staff. I have also worked effectively with a wide range of people using various methods of communication, including in person meetings and Microsoft Teams for remote meetings.
