David Gibson

I have been teaching English since 2008 in the UK, China, Thailand, Germany and Chile, and I have been teaching online since 2020. I specialise in teaching General English, Business English, English for Academic Purposes and Communicative English. I have an MA in Applied Linguistics, specialising in teaching English as a Foreign Language, and both a Cambridge University CELTA and DELTA (vocational qualifications in teaching English to adult learners). I have also been teaching pre-sessional English (academic English, essay writing, presentation skills, critical thinking) for a prestigious UK university since 2017. I am particularly knowledgeable about issues experienced by speakers of Chinese, German and Spanish.

Methodologically, I use the Direct Approach, the communicative approach and traditional methods for teaching grammar and vocabulary.

Online, I teach adults (18+) levels A2 (advanced beginner), B1/B2 (intermediate) and C1/C2 (advanced).
