David Frenkel

I earned an M.A. with honors through the Interdisciplinary Program in the Arts and believe that my varied experience allows me to support students at many different stages of their creative development. I believe in supportive approach to tutoring, focusing on helping each student find their own voice while building the practical skills needed to showcase their work effectively.

Most recently, I had the opportunity to mentor a young student through the competitive admissions process for an Art School. By drawing on my past as a graphic designer and my current practice as a photographer, I helped her refine her main project - both in its conceptual framing and the physical choice of materials. My design background was particularly useful in helping her organize and present a professional portfolio that clearly communicated her artistic vision.
