Hello! I’m a native Mandarin Chinese speaker with a Master’s degree in Translation and Interpreting and professional experience in language teaching and training.

My lessons are friendly, practical and personalised to you. Whether you are a complete beginner, want to improve your conversational Chinese, need support with schoolwork, or simply want to speak more naturally and confidently, I will adapt each lesson to your level and goals.

Depending on your needs, lessons can include pronunciation and tones, everyday conversation, vocabulary, grammar, listening, reading and Chinese characters. For beginners, we can start with Pinyin, tones and useful everyday expressions, then gradually build your vocabulary and confidence. For more experienced learners, we can focus more on natural conversation, correcting mistakes, improving fluency and understanding how Mandarin is actually used in real life.

I believe language learning should be interactive rather than simply memorising vocabulary. I use practical examples, conversation practice and situations you might encounter in everyday life. I can explain difficult language points clearly in English when needed, so complete beginners are very welcome.

I also enjoy bringing Chinese culture into my lessons. As a professional Chinese-English language specialist, I can help you understand not only what an expression means, but also when and how a native speaker would naturally use it.

Most importantly, there is no pressure to be perfect. Mistakes are part of learning! My aim is to create a relaxed and encouraging environment where you feel comfortable speaking Chinese and can see your progress over time.
