¡Hola! Soy Danny; encantado de conocerte :)
I have been studying Spanish since high school, continuing through my GCSEs, A Levels, and university. I graduated with a First Class degree in Spanish Studies and Linguistics, earning a distinction in spoken Spanish. After spending a year living and studying in Córdoba, Spain, I achieved a C2 level of proficiency. I bring real-world knowledge of both Spanish and Latin American language and culture to my teaching, offering insights beyond the typical classroom setting.
I offer friendly, personalised lessons to A-level and university students, advanced learners, and anyone who is looking to improve their confidence using Spanish in real conversations. Whether you are preparing for an exam, wanting to improve your pronunciation, or working on learning complex grammar, I can adapt our lessons to suit your individual goals and interests.
Having studied both Spanish and linguistics at university, I particularly enjoy exploring the things that make Spanish interesting: think grammar, pronunciation, regional differences, the history of the language, and the predictable patterns which make Spanish work. I believe that weaving in even a tiny bit of this understanding into your studies can completely transform how you approach learning Spanish; it is so much more impactful to make the language come to life rather than just memorising an endless list of rules.
Our lessons can be adapted to whatever you find most useful. We might work through a particular grammar point, have a conversation about a topic you're interested in, explore a piece of Spanish media, practise pronunciation, or look at some more exam-style questions.
Ultimately, my goal is to help you feel comfortable with using Spanish. In no way do you have to be absolutely perfect to have a good conversation; I promise to make my lessons a comfortable and safe environment where you can practise new skills and make mistakes all while beginning to actually think in the language.
If you're looking for relaxed but useful lessons, I'd love to hear where you're at in your language-learning journey, what your goals are, and work with you to see what I can do to help! ¡Hasta pronto! :D
