Each lesson follows a consistent structure, with some flexibility depending on your needs and progress. Before the lesson, you should send any homework at least four hours in advance, so I have time to review it. Homework should be completed before the lesson, and any difficulties should be clearly marked so we can focus on them together.
At the start of the lesson, we will briefly discuss the homework and identify any areas that need clarification. I will answer questions and explain anything that you found challenging. We then recap the previous lesson using a few short questions to check understanding and confidence.
The next stage depends on your confidence level. If your confidence is low, we will revisit the topic and work through additional examples and questions. If your confidence is moderate, we consolidate understanding with a few more questions before moving on. If your confidence is high, we continue to the next topic while still including occasional questions from earlier lessons to support long-term recall.
The main part of the lesson introduces and develops new content. Concepts are explained clearly, using examples and questions throughout to keep the lesson interactive. The level and pace are adjusted to suit the student, with more support given when needed and more challenging questions introduced once the basics are secure.
At the end of the lesson, I set homework and explain exactly what is expected. This gives you the opportunity to practise independently and helps me assess your understanding before the next session.
