Clare Daykin

With over 13 years of full-time tutoring experience and a distinguished academic background, I combines expert subject knowledge with a warm, supportive teaching style that helps students feel confident and capable. A former tenured Lecturer in Pharmacy at the University of Nottingham and holder of a PhD in Analytical Biochemistry from Imperial College London, I bring both academic excellence and real-world scientific expertise to every lesson.

I specialise in making complex scientific concepts accessible and engaging, tailoring her teaching to the individual needs of each student. As a current GCSE and A-level examiner, I have an invaluable insight into exam board expectations and effective exam technique, helping students not only understand their subjects but also achieve their full potential in assessments.

I teach all three sciences and maths at GCSE, biology and chemistry at A-level, and selected university-level topics in biology, biochemistry, chemistry and pharmacy. I have extensive experience supporting students of all abilities, including those with SEN and EAL needs, and I am known for my patient, encouraging and structured approach.

Above all, I am passionate about creating a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, developing confidence, and enjoying the learning process.
