I am a fully qualified teacher (QTS) with over 10 years’ experience teaching and tutoring Science and Biology across Key Stage 3, GCSE, and A-level. I have worked with a wide range of students in both school and tutoring settings, supporting learners across multiple exam boards including AQA, Edexcel (UK and International), OCR, Cambridge (CIE), and IB.
At Key Stage 3, I teach all sciences (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics), helping students build strong foundations, confidence, and scientific thinking skills. At GCSE level, I tutor Biology and Chemistry, supporting students with content mastery as well as exam technique. At A-level, my specialist focus is Biology, where I help students develop deeper understanding and strong exam performance.
My teaching style is calm, supportive, and highly student-centred. Lessons typically begin with a short check-in and discussion about what the student would like to focus on. Sessions can be flexible and responsive to immediate needs, or more structured for ongoing revision and exam preparation.
I mainly use clear, well-structured PowerPoint presentations alongside scaffolded questioning to guide students step by step. I regularly use exam-style questions and mark schemes to build confidence, improve exam technique, and help students understand exactly what examiners are looking for.
I particularly enjoy working with students who lack confidence, feel anxious about science, or are currently underperforming and want to improve. I focus on rebuilding self-belief, strengthening understanding, and helping students feel capable again, rather than pushing already high-achieving students for top grades. Parents are kept informed of progress throughout.
