Christian Launay

Hello, my name is Christian. I am a Frenchman who has been living in the United Kingdom for many years. I hold a degree in English as a foreign language, a translation diploma, and a UK teaching certificate (CertEd). After working as a translator, I have been teaching French full-time for twenty-five years, driven by a passion for languages and for engaging with my students.

I speak French and English fluently, and I have a good command of Portuguese and Spanish, which allows me to understand the challenges learners face. In my teaching practice, I continually strive to make my lessons effective and tailored to each student’s needs.

For adult beginners, I use illustrated dialogues and visual aids, followed by a variety of exercises (questions and answers, role-plays, repetitions, and comprehension tests). For more advanced learners, I focus on practising spoken French using modern materials such as podcasts, articles, and comics. For children, lessons are adapted to meet school requirements or to prepare for exams. The typical lesson duration is one hour. Goodbye
