Chris Leicester

I’ve been a professional playwright, novelist, screenwriter and educator since 1998. My 9th new play, 180 Degree Chord concluded the first stage of its UK tour in November 2022 and received great acclaim from audiences; “One of the best plays I have ever seen.” The play tours again in late 2023 concluding with a 4-week run at a prestigious theatre in London. My past plays and novels have all received great reviews.

I bring this unique experience gained in the arts to help a wide variety of students from GGSE ‘O’ and ‘A’ levels though to mature students and those looking to venture into a career in theatre and film.

Through my Dramatic Insight programme, I use my experiences gained through theatre to bring a “zing” back to English subjects using my own work and privileged “insights” I’ve acquired as a writer, director and producer in this fascinating world. It’s particularly aimed at students who have, for one reason or another, disengaged with English Literature and Language in a formal setting and who are struggling to find its relevance or value. I bring the subjects to life and help reengage students so they can feel the magic of creativity themselves and can continue and succeed in their education.
