I am an entry level psychology teacher. I start by helping student understand the basic concept of psychology. We would look into the foundations of psychology, the history of psychology, the fields of psychology, the schools of thoughts of psychology, and other dimensions pertaining to psychological studies. Then, we would move into opportunities studying psychology offers and areas where psychology can be very useful.
With this we can create a very good background on how psychology is necessary in every aspect of human life.
The next step is to move into aspect of psychology taking them one after another.
First, we start with the lower level, psychobiology. Looking into how the nervous system the brain and the endocrine system affect human behavior and other psychobiological activities going on internally in the human body that affects overt behavior. Then we move into water aspects like social psychology which deals with topics like conformity compliance attribution theory impression formation social perception social cognition and social change. Then cognitive psychology which deals with human cognitions, sensory processes and how they affect human perception. Other fields include; Developmental psychology, educational psychology, clinical psychology, business psychology, industrial relations, forensic psychology, and many others.
I make use of standard curriculums that is adaptable so any geographical location of my students making it a practical and relatable to their settings and environment in that way eliminating abstract learning and improving problems solving skills in real life situations.
Alongside we would study the quantitative and statistical aspects of psychology and research methods used in psychology which would help improve research skills in solving issues in the environment and also to describe explain predict and modify behavior.
At the end of each session, tests would be taken to ensure a proper understanding of each topic.
