I am a dedicated and experienced French teacher with over ten years of classroom experience across Nigeria and the United Kingdom. I hold an MA in French Literature from Nnamdi Azikiwe University and am currently completing a PGCE in Secondary French with QTS at the University of Nottingham, where I am training at two Nottingham secondary schools.
My lessons are structured, engaging, and always tailored to the individual learner. Whether you are a complete beginner hoping to say your first words in French, a student preparing for GCSE or A-Level examinations, or a professional looking to build conversational confidence for travel or work, I will design sessions around your specific goals and learning pace.
In my lessons, I focus on all four skills — speaking, listening, reading, and writing — so that you develop well-rounded fluency rather than just textbook knowledge. I use a communicative approach, meaning we spend real time using the language, not just studying it. I incorporate retrieval practice, spaced repetition, and targeted feedback to help new vocabulary and grammar stick over the long term.
I have experience supporting learners with diverse needs, including SEND and EAL students, and I am confident adapting my teaching style to suit different learning preferences. My background as a former Class Teacher also means I bring strong pastoral awareness and genuine care for each student's progress and confidence.
Above all, I want my students to enjoy French — to feel the doors it opens culturally, professionally, and personally. I look forward to helping you on that journey.
