Hello, I’m Shaun — a Psychology tutor and lecturer with 25 years of teaching experience and a joint honours degree in Psychology & Sport Science. Over the last 10 years I have taught Psychology across GCSE, A-Level and Level 1–3 BTEC programmes, alongside Criminology and Uniformed Services. This breadth gives me a strong understanding of both the academic requirements and how to support students with confidence, structure, and clear exam technique.
I currently work online as an international subject specialist delivering Psychology, Criminology and Research Methods to IB students worldwide. This has strengthened my ability to plan engaging Zoom lessons that are highly interactive and learner-centred. I use a clear routine in sessions: quick retrieval practice to secure key knowledge, explanation using simple frameworks and real examples, then focused exam questions with feedback. My aim is always to improve AO1 knowledge, AO2 application and AO3 evaluation — the skills that most directly raise grades.
My approach is calm, supportive and structured. I help students build subject vocabulary, understand classic studies and key debates, and develop strong essay planning and evaluation. Where needed, I also support students with revision schedules, memory strategies and exam confidence, so that progress feels manageable rather than overwhelming.
I am a member of the Society for Education and Training (SET) and the Education & Training Foundation, and I work with an evidence-informed approach to teaching. If you share your exam board, topics and timeline, I will create a tailored plan and help you make steady, measurable progress.
