My teaching philosophy is simple: every child can excel when they are taught in the way they learn best. I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I believe in listening first, then teaching.

* I Start by Understanding the Learner:
Before I teach, I listen. My first session is always about understanding.
I will conduct a gentle baseline assessment to understand where your child is currently, what the school expects for their year group under the curriculum, and where the gaps are. More importantly, I will ask your child how they feel about the subject. Do they find English comprehension overwhelming? Confidence is half the battle.
I will also speak with you as the parent to understand your goals, simply building confidence and closing learning gaps.
From this, I create a personalized learning plan that is specific to your child, not copied from a textbook.
My Lesson Structure is Clear, Calm and Engaging
Every lesson I deliver follows a clear structure that keeps children focused and makes progress visible:
First, we have a quick recap of the last lesson to build retention. Second, I introduce the new objective in small, manageable steps, using real-life examples that make sense to student. Third, we practise together. I model how to approach the question, we solve one together, then your child tries independently while I guide. Finally, we review what was learned and I give constructive feedback.
I explain concepts in more than one way. If a child does not understand fractions through numbers, I will show it with visuals, stories, or everyday objects. No child is left behind in my session.
. I Make Learning Active, Not Passive
I do not lecture for an hour. Children learn by doing.
My sessions are interactive, with lots of questioning, discussion, whiteboard work, mini-quizzes, and past paper practice where appropriate. For younger learners, I include games and visual aids. For older learners preparing for exams, I teach exam technique how to understand what the question is really asking, how to manage time, and how to avoid common pitfalls that examiners look for.
I also differentiate my teaching to suit all learning styles, including learners with SEN, ADHD, or dyslexia. I am patient, I repeat without frustration, and I celebrate every small win.
. I Build Confidence as Well as Grades
Many children do not need just knowledge; they need belief. I have seen bright children underperform because they think they are not good at.
My role is to change that narrative. I create a safe, non-judgmental space where it is okay to make mistakes. I praise effort, not just correct answers. I teach resilience, how to try again, how to check your own work, how to be proud of progress. When a child’s confidence grows, their grades naturally follow.
I also uphold the highest standards of safeguarding, professionalism, punctuality, and communication. Your child’s safety and well-being are always my first priority.
In short, I will bring all my knowledge, all my experience, and all my patience to your child’s learning journey. I will not just teach your child a subject; I will teach them how to learn, how to believe in themselves, and how to achieve more than they thought possible.
