Charissa

A versatile tutor and academic mentor with several years' experience supporting GCSE and A-level students across Maths, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, including a full academic year as a full-time tutor and a year authoring a platform's full GCSE Biology curriculum. I work as comfortably on subject content as I do on the motivation and mindset behind it: helping students who have checked out re-engage, building study structure across their whole timetable, and adapting my approach to each student's exam board, level, and personality. My own route through Oxford Biology, combined with captaining a university netball team and coordinating novice rowers, means I'm equally at home holding someone accountable and keeping things light-hearted. Several of my former students still keep in touch with me and update me on how they're getting on, the clearest sign that the relationship, not just the results, is what stuck.
