I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and French, and I’m also proficient in German and Spanish. Currently, I’m learning Greek. My own experience as a language learner has given me a deep understanding of the challenges involved, which is why I always tailor my teaching approach to each individual. I work collaboratively with students to set clear learning objectives and identify the most effective ways to achieve them.

I have experience teaching in primary and secondary schools, as well as privately tutoring adults across a range of subjects. I take pride in building strong, supportive relationships with my students—and I like to think my sense of humour helps too! No matter where a student begins when learning a language, I believe in their potential and will support them every step of the way to ensure steady progress. With a positive attitude and genuine enthusiasm for learning, I aim to boost my students’ confidence, develop their language skills, and help them achieve what they need for work, leisure or fun.

A typical lesson begins with sharing the learning objective, followed by a brief assessment of prior knowledge. We then move on to introducing new material, engaging in guided practice, and concluding with an assessment to reinforce learning and track progress. I encourage both spontaneous and guided speaking practice through conversation and targeted questioning. To support language acquisition, I incorporate a variety of engaging resources such as video clips, songs, and articles. I also recommend useful media for students to explore in their own time, helping to reinforce learning beyond the lesson. Key information is presented using clear and structured PowerPoint slides, which I share with students for revision and future reference.

I firmly believe that language learning should be enjoyable and engaging, and that it serves as a powerful tool for connecting with new people and cultures.
