French is my passion, and I want to help students find the same love for France and the French language. In my experience, it is hugely rewarding and confidence building to be able to speak another language, no matter how basic or advanced. I've always loved helping others in their learning and delight in their progress and sense of accomplishment. I'm very friendly and approachable and respond well with students of all ages and abilities.
I studied a BA (Hons) degree in Modern Languages, French and Italian, and lived in Besancon, France (and also in Italy) as part of this. Having spent my childhood summer holidays camping in France, I developed a deep love for the people, culture and their beautiful country. Speaking French comes naturally to me and I enjoy it very much when I'm able to speak with others in French.
Over the years I have worked in French speaking roles, including as a bi-lingual Personal Assistant for a global hotel company where most of my team were French speaking and I would travel to France. Apart from speaking French in my work, I have been delighted to see my 3 children learn French at school, and have been able to support them in their French GCSEs studies.
I am reliable, organised, and motivated, equipped with the communication skills for delivering high quality, professional and fun tutoring sessions online. I always ensure I adapt my teaching style to the students' individual needs and levels and explain the skills in different ways to reach a good understanding.
I make lessons as engaging, progressive, and as fun as possible to ensure students get the most out of them, and tailor lessons to the students themselves. I aim to build students' confidence by always supporting them, highlighting all the positive areas and helping them to see their own improvement and achievements.
I usually begin sessions with some quickfire questions to recap on previous content which helps students ease into the main topic of the session. I then walk through worked examples to demonstrate a particular skill or topic and then encourage students to answer exam style questions more and more independently.
