My lessons are friendly, encouraging and adapted to the individual student. I don’t believe the same explanation or activity will work for everyone, so I like getting to know how each student learns, what they find difficult and what they are interested in.
Before our first lesson, I’d ideally like to message with you briefly (completely free of charge!) about your current level, what you’d like to work on and what you hope to get from tutoring. This means I can prepare activities, resources and a plan for our first lesson that are actually relevant to you, rather than starting with a generic lesson.
Depending on your goals, we can work on reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar, speaking or simply becoming more confident using English. I like using questions, examples, visual explanations and links to real interests or situations to make new concepts easier to understand. If something isn’t clicking, we can approach it differently rather than simply repeating the same explanation.
I currently work as an English tutor with children and young people, supporting reading comprehension, writing, language analysis and exam preparation. I also have experience as a one-to-one reading mentor and running a weekly book club.
Most importantly, I want lessons to be somewhere you feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Learning another language can be intimidating, so there’s no expectation to get everything right immediately! We’ll work at a pace that suits you and build your confidence alongside your English and celebrate the progress you make together.
