History is not just a list of names and dates. It is the story of how people lived, struggled, and shaped the world we know today. That is the spirit I bring to my teaching. I want my students to see history as something alive and meaningful, not distant or dry.

I have studied history in depth and have also co-authored and ghostwritten several history books. This experience has given me both a wide knowledge base and the ability to explain complex ideas in a clear and engaging way. My lessons are designed to be supportive, enjoyable, and adapted to each individual student.

Lessons are taught online through Zoom or Slack, making them flexible and easy to fit around your schedule. At the start we take time to look at what you already know and what you want to achieve. That could be preparing for exams, improving coursework, or tackling a particular subject that feels difficult. From there we can build a structured plan together, or I can simply provide one-to-one help with specific topics whenever you need it.

My expertise covers a wide range of history. I specialise in Classical Civilisations including the Roman Republic, the Roman Empire, Ancient Greece and Macedonia. I also have a strong background in wider ancient history, from the Stone Age through the Bronze and Iron Ages. In addition, I teach English and British history across the centuries as well as global events such as the Industrial Revolution, the French Revolution, the First World War and the Second World War.

Every lesson is about more than memorising facts. I encourage discussion, critical thinking and curiosity so that history feels like a story you can step into and question. Whether your goal is to achieve top exam results or to deepen your personal understanding of the past, I will work with you to create lessons that are clear, rewarding and tailored to your needs.
