When I was a GCSE/ Alevel student my approach was creative. My attempts at poetry to remember facts of the Cold War is a personal favourite. Tutoring should be about finding or continuing a learning style that works for you.
I've tutored English Literature GCSE for a year, and the main issue I have encountered so far is that students are simply memorising quotations and not engaging their brain. Essay structure is crucial, but engaging more critically with the subject is what I find yields more benefits for both exam results and enjoyment of the subject.
I also have experience in teaching neurodiverse students, and creating adaptable study plans that fit these students' needs.
