My lessons are structured, engaging, and tailored to each student’s goals and learning style. I usually start by identifying the student’s current level and any specific areas they find challenging. I then design lessons that provide clear explanations so that students don’t just memorise concepts but really understand them.
Each session usually includes a mix of explanation, visual aids, and practice questions. I like to break complex topics into manageable parts, checking understanding along the way. I also encourage questions and discussion throughout.
I incorporate exam-style questions for students to apply their knowledge and build confidence, especially if they are preparing for exams. I also provide tips on revision techniques, memory strategies, and how to approach different types of biology questions.
In terms of experience, I have a strong academic background in biology/psychology/neuroscience. My A-levels were in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics, my BSc in Neuroscience, and my MSc in Psychology. I have also recently completed a PhD in Clinical Neuroscience. I also have previous experience tutoring primary school students in mathematics to improve both their understanding and their grades. I also like to help build curiosity and appreciation for the subject!
Overall, my lessons are supportive, adaptable, and focused on helping students make steady, measurable progress while enjoying the learning process.
